The PSH men’s soccer team started the month of October off strong. So far the Blue & White have played in three conference games going 2-0-1. On Saturday, Oct. 1, the men’s team defeated fellow Penn State satellite campus, Penn State Berks 8-0. Kobe Harris started the scoring early in the match after finishing a pass from Daniel Fombu. Just thirty seconds later, Marc Rogers buried away a penalty kick to make the score 2-0. In the 15th minute of the match, it was Harris again. Thanks to an assist from Captain Luke Myers, Harris was able to give Harrisburg a 3-0 lead. The Harrisburg Lions went into halftime with a 4-0 lead after Daniel Fombu put another goal on the board for the Blue & White. After halftime, it was again Daniel Fombu who scored once again to make the score 5-0. Tyler Madairy, Daryl Lucas, and Griffen Martello each added one goal to make the score 8-0 at the end of the match.

It was a quick turn-a-round as the Harrisburg Lions competed against regionally ranked conference rival, Lancaster Bible College on Wednesday, Oct. 5. The Lions were roaring during the first 80 minutes of the match. In the 25th minute, it was none other than Kobe Harris who started the scoring for PSH. Luke Myers was credited with the assist to Harris which allowed the Lions to walk into halftime with a 1-0 lead. The Blue & White came out strong in the second half and it showed as first-year Daniel Rossiter scored his first marker of the season to give the Lions a 2-0 lead. Just four minutes later, it was Luke Myers again who scored a beauty to give PSH a 3-0 lead. However, Lancaster Bible College did not lose hope. Their belief allowed them to score three goals in the last 10 minutes of the match to finish with a 3-3 tie.

The Lions finished the week off strong after defeating Gallaudet University 6-0 on Saturday, Oct. 8. Daniel Fombu (1), Alex Afata (2), Ben Stuckert (2), and Kobe Harris (1) were all credited with scoring the markers. It was a special day as the PSH men’s soccer program honored their three seniors: Esteban Leon, Daryl Lucas, and Jonathan Gartley.

On Wednesday, Oct. 12, the Lions traveled to Dickinson College. Thanks to a late goal in the 86th minute from Ethan Cortes the Blue & White traveled back to Harrisburg with an earned tie. PSH will travel to Wells College on Saturday, Oct. 15 to compete against their conference opponent.
