Penn State Harrisburg To Add Field Hockey
Last week, the Penn State Harrisburg Athletics Department announced that field hockey will become the 17th intercollegiate sport offered at The Capital College.
Varsity field hockey will begin at the Harrisburg campus in the fall of 2024, operating first at the club level before competing in Division III NCAA games. A head coach search is already underway. Once the position is filled, a roster of 25-30 players will be assembled.
According to Rashaan Carlton, the school’s director of athletics, interest in field hockey has been strong and growing among both prospective and enrolled students.
The field hockey team will practice and compete in home games at the new multipurpose turf field. More information, such as game schedules, can be found on the PSH Athletics website and social media as it becomes available.
